Meet Jonathon T. Eberst

Jonathon T. Eberst is the Managing Partner and Founder of The Eberst Law Firm, P.A., a plaintiff personal injury firm with offices in Stuart, Gainesville, and Daytona Beach, Florida. Born outside Detroit and raised in Jensen Beach since age two, Jonathon leads a team of 14 attorneys split across a dedicated pre-litigation group and a separate litigation/trial team. The firm represents Florida east coast clients hurt in car and truck crashes on I-95 and A1A, families fighting nursing-home neglect, homeowners with denied hurricane claims, and the full range of high-value personal injury and insurance disputes. Jonathon founded the practice the day after his bar admission in September 2009, building it on one principle: prepare every case as if it's going to trial.

Jonathon T. Eberst founded The Eberst Law Firm, P.A. on September 24, 2009 — the day after his Florida Bar admission — on a conviction that Florida's insurance landscape rewards firms willing to actually try cases. From the firm's three offices on Florida's east coast, Jonathon has built a 14-attorney roster designed to take a personal injury claim from intake all the way to verdict without handing it off. The pre-litigation group handles early claims work and adjuster negotiations, while the trial team takes cases through litigation when settlement isn't fair. Coming from a blue-collar Jensen Beach family where no one had attended college before his brother, Jonathon worked as an electrician, boat captain, and hotel manager before his brother called at age 21 suggesting they both become lawyers. That split structure lets the firm cover the full range of Florida personal injury work while maintaining Jonathon's core philosophy: "We prepare every case as if it's going to trial, whether it ends up settling or not."

What Inspired Jonathon?

Jonathon never dreamed of becoming a lawyer growing up in a blue-collar Jensen Beach family where college wasn't part of the conversation. At 21, working as an electrician, boat captain, and hotel front office manager, he got a call from his brother transferring from Miami-Dade Community College to the University of Florida. "Why don't you move to Gainesville with me and we'll go to school and be lawyers?" his brother asked. Jonathon's response was simple: "Sure, why not? Let's try something new." That leap of faith launched a journey that took him from community college to the University of Florida to Barry Law School, where he discovered his passion for trial advocacy. His philosophy became the advice he gives everyone considering a major life change: "If you think about doing something, give it a shot. You can always change your mind later. You only have one go at this life thing."

Mission & Vision

The Eberst Law Firm exists to help those in need when they need help the most. Jonathon built the practice around one core belief: "We help people when they need help the most. Unless you're in this industry, unless you're a personal injury attorney, you have no idea what step to take first when you're in a car accident." The firm operates on strict contingency fees so clients never pay unless they win, and maintains both pre-litigation and trial teams in-house so cases are never referred out. Jonathon's mission stems directly from his upbringing: "Our parents always taught us to stand up for the little guy, to help those that are being bullied, that nobody is better than anyone else. We're here for those in need. We're here for the underdog. We'll always be here."

Guiding Principles

The following core values drive Jonathon T. Eberst and The Eberst Law Firm, P.A. in every case they handle.

Client Interest First

Every decision the firm makes about a case has to serve the client's interest - not the firm's calendar, not the insurance company's settlement budget, not the easiest path to closing the file.

Team Approach

Cases move through a 14-attorney team across pre-litigation and litigation in-house, so a client never has to be handed off to outside counsel when their case needs to be tried.

Family Values

The Eberst Law Firm is a family-built practice with multiple Eberst attorneys on staff, and that posture - treating clients the way you'd want your own family treated - runs through how the firm handles intake, communication, and resolution.

Accessibility

The firm publishes a 24/7 client-communication commitment: clients should never feel like they don't know what is going on with their case. Three Florida east coast offices make in-person access realistic from Stuart through Daytona Beach.

Integrity

No false promises about outcomes, dollar figures, or timelines. The firm explicitly positions against the generic "we'll fight for you" language that everyone uses but few firms actually back up.

Continuous Improvement

The firm explicitly commits to thinking outside the traditional law-firm box, using modern technology, digital communication tools, and modern case-management practices instead of operating the way firms did twenty years ago.

Practice Areas

Jonathon T. Eberst and The Eberst Law Firm, P.A. specialize in personal injury cases where another party caused the harm.

Car Accidents

Jonathon T. Eberst fights for car accident victims across Florida. Other firms push quick settlements. The Eberst Law Firm doesn't. Florida's no-fault system covers initial medical costs through Personal Injury Protection (PIP), but serious injuries allow victims to pursue more. The firm builds each case with the full fight it deserves, recovering fair compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and lasting injuries caused by negligent drivers.

Learn More

Truck Accidents

Jonathon T. Eberst takes on trucking companies and their insurers and doesn't back down. Commercial truck accidents cause catastrophic injuries, and these cases involve complex federal regulations, driver logs, and maintenance records. Most firms won't invest the time these cases demand. The Eberst Law Firm will. Victims recover fair compensation for serious injuries, long-term medical care, and lost earning capacity when trucking negligence changes their lives.

Learn More

Motorcycle Accidents

Attorney Jonathon T. Eberst represents motorcycle accident victims who deserve a real fight, not a fast settlement. Insurers routinely blame riders to reduce payouts. Florida's modified contributory negligence law bars recovery if a plaintiff is more than 50% at fault, making strong representation critical. The Eberst Law Firm counters unfair fault assignments and builds cases that hold negligent drivers accountable. Clients recover fair compensation for injuries, rehabilitation, and lost income.

Learn More

Nursing Home Abuse

Jonathon T. Eberst stands up for nursing home abuse victims and the families who trusted facilities to protect them. Florida law shields residents from neglect, physical harm, and exploitation, but too many facilities cut corners. The Eberst Law Firm investigates staffing records, incident reports, and facility conditions to identify every responsible party. Families recover the compensation they are owed and hold negligent facilities accountable for the harm they caused.

Learn More

Hurricane Damage Claims

Jonathon T. Eberst fights for Florida property owners when insurers underpay or deny valid hurricane damage claims. Florida is home, and when a storm takes that from someone, The Eberst Law Firm treats that case like a neighbor's problem worth solving. The firm reviews policy terms, documents all losses, and disputes unfair denials. Property owners recover the compensation they are owed for structural damage, lost property, and additional living expenses.

Learn More

Medical Malpractice

Attorney Jonathon T. Eberst pursues medical malpractice cases that other firms walk away from. When doctors, hospitals, or healthcare providers fall below accepted standards, patients pay the price. These cases are difficult, expensive, and demand full commitment. The Eberst Law Firm provides all three. The firm works with qualified medical professionals to prove negligence, causation, and damages. Victims recover fair compensation for additional care, lost wages, and life-altering injuries.

Learn More

Pedestrian & Bicycle Accidents

Jonathon T. Eberst represents pedestrians and cyclists seriously injured by negligent drivers. Florida roads are dangerous for vulnerable road users, and injuries are often severe. Insurers work quickly to minimize payouts and shift blame. The Eberst Law Firm works harder. The firm investigates accident scenes, documents injuries thoroughly, and applies Florida's negligence laws to build strong cases. Victims recover the compensation they are owed for medical care and lasting impairment.

Learn More

Wrongful Death

Jonathon T. Eberst represents families who lost someone due to another's negligence and treats every case like a neighbor's loss worth fighting for. Florida law allows surviving family members to recover damages for funeral costs, lost financial support, and loss of companionship. The Eberst Law Firm investigates liability, identifies every responsible party, and refuses to settle for less than what families are owed. Justice means a genuine fight, every time.
